My passion is to help local businesses thrive – through finding them the right commercial space and through providing marketing, branding & design services to help set them up for success. Commercial real estate is serious business, but it doesn't have to be intimidating. I'm dedicated to breaking down the details to make sure communication is easy and accessible for all. I am based in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, and specialize in commercial real estate on the West side of Hawaii Island. I provide marketing, branding & design services for local businesses as well as nationwide.

I am proud to be an agent with Big Island Commercial Properties (BICP), under Principal Broker and Founder, James Augustine. I am inspired by James' strategic and honest approach to commercial property. I am honored to lease and sell commercial real estate, representing buyers and sellers with BICP – while still offering businesses further support via marketing, branding & design consulting should they need it.

Why: #1

Due to a variety of factors, Hawai'i is one of the most challenging states in the USA to make a living. Whenever I hear "She Go" by HIRIE I'm reminded of this, and also of how important it is to keep a positive attitude, help one another, and keep moving in a good direction. We are blessed every moment we live in paradise, truly. But we also are entrepreneurs, investors, and hard workers.

WHY #1

"You still the boss girl, no fancy clothes
Working that hustle cuz that's what you know
Weed out the bad vibes it's time to roll
Oh, she go"

HIRIE sounds sweet but she's singing some true words

I defer to the wise words of others to speak on the topic of aloha. Please find a few passages and links below that I found meaningful.

"Aloha is being a part of all and all being a part of me."

The Hawaiian Law of "Aloha Spirit"

"Hawaii Aloha LawIn 1986, Hawai‘i lawmakers passed the “Aloha Spirit” law (Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, section 5-7.5), which recognizes the aloha spirit “as the working philosophy of native Hawaiians . . . presented as a gift to the people of Hawai‘i.” The late Aunty Pilahi Paki wrote the law because she foresaw a twenty-first-century world in deep strife that would look to Hawai‘i for healing. Aloha would be its remedy."

“Aloha—It’s the Law" by Teri Freitas Gorman published in Maui Magazine

[§5-7.5]  "Aloha Spirit".  (a)  "Aloha Spirit" is the coordination of mind and heart within each person.  It brings each person to the self.  Each person must think and emote good feelings to others.  In the contemplation and presence of the life force, "Aloha", the following unuhi laula loa may be used:

     "Akahai", meaning kindness to be expressed with tenderness;

     "Lokahi", meaning unity, to be expressed with harmony;

     "Oluolu", meaning agreeable, to be expressed with pleasantness;

     "Haahaa", meaning humility, to be expressed with modesty;

     "Ahonui", meaning patience, to be expressed with perseverance.

These are traits of character that express the charm, warmth and sincerity of Hawaii's people.  It was the working philosophy of native Hawaiians and was presented as a gift to the people of Hawaii.  "Aloha" is more than a word of greeting or farewell or a salutation.  "Aloha" means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return.  "Aloha" is the essence of relationships in which each person is important to every other person for collective existence.  "Aloha" means to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen and to know the unknowable."

Hawai'i Revised Statutes, section 5-7.5

This law was written by Aunty Pilahi Paki. Watch a short video about her.

My waking conscious has been mulling over the question of, “How can I provide services to support my Hawaiian entrepreneurial community in a way that works here?”

What is appreciated on the mainland, is not necessarily what is needed on the islands - in terms of service offering, approach, attitude, and more. I want to combine the hustle and drive that has been so important to my success in the past, with the welcoming, respectful, and grateful essence of the aloha spirit that is key to life here.

Believe it or not, my subconscious came up with the name Hustle with Aloha in a dream. While my semi-conscious mulled this over, I saw myself sketching out the name in a cursive font. As I meditated on the name it also started to help guide me to see what my path should be. What would it mean to Hustle with Aloha?

For the last 15 years I've worked with over 100 brands and entrepreneurs to get their businesses off the ground and set them up for success by providing brand strategy, marketing & design services. Local businesses are the strong but flexible backbone of our community – and I believe our entire nation's economy. Just because a business is local, or small, doesn't mean they can't make a significant difference in the lives of those around them. Every business is important. And every business, no matter what size, deserves to benefit from professional services & strategy. This is why Hustle With Aloha exists, and how I believe I can be of highest service in this lifetime.

When I started working on Hustle With Aloha, I wasn't sure what it would become, but I knew I needed to do something. It started as a way to share my marketing, branding and design expertise with the local business community. And now with commercial realty, I see it can be much bigger. I'm so excited to show up in the community this way, and to broaden my path to support local businesses and investors even more. Thank you for getting to know me better by reading this, and I hope you get in touch to talk story. I can't wait to see what we can build together!
